Our Commitment
Baby Milestone Journal is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level for our website, and follow platform accessibility best practices for our iOS and Android apps.
Accessibility Features
Our app and website include the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
- Descriptive alt text on images
- Sufficient color contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA standards
- Keyboard-navigable interface with visible focus indicators
- ARIA labels on interactive elements
- Responsive design that works across screen sizes and zoom levels
- Support for screen readers (VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android)
- Touch targets sized for comfortable interaction (44pt minimum)
- No auto-playing media or flashing content
Mobile App Accessibility
Our React Native app follows platform-specific accessibility guidelines:
- Native accessibility APIs for iOS and Android
- Dynamic text sizing support
- Accessible labels on all interactive controls
- Safe area support for devices with notches and home indicators
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to identify and resolve any remaining gaps. Third-party content and services integrated into the app may have their own accessibility limitations.
