• Baby Profiles: Baby's name, birth date, and gender (optional)
• Photos and Media: Photos you capture or import into the app
• Journal Entries: Text entries, notes, and milestone records you create
• Growth Data: Height, weight, and other measurements you choose to record

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Usage Analytics: Anonymous app usage patterns to improve features (can be disabled)
• Crash Reports: Technical information when errors occur, to help us fix bugs

Permissions We Request

• Camera: To capture milestone photos directly in the app
• Photo Library: To import existing photos and save exports
• Notifications: To send milestone reminders (optional, you control this)

🔐 How We Protect Your Data

• Local-First Storage: By default, all your data stays on your device. Cloud sync is optional.
• Encryption: All data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption, both at rest and in transit.
• Secure Authentication: We use industry-standard authentication protocols.
• No Third-Party Tracking: We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

🤝 How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Baby Milestone Journal app
• Send milestone reminders and notifications (with your permission)
• Sync data across your devices (if you enable cloud sync)
• Enable family sharing features (if you use Premium features)
• Improve app performance and fix bugs
• Respond to your support requests

We do NOT use your information to:

• Sell to third parties
• Display targeted advertisements
• Train AI or machine learning models

👨‍👩‍👧 Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Baby Milestone Journal is designed for parents and caregivers to document their children's milestones. We take children's privacy extremely seriously:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
• The app is intended for use by parents/guardians, not children
• Photos and information about children are controlled entirely by parents
• Parents can delete all data about their children at any time

🌍 GDPR & CCPA Compliance

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we have about you
• Rectification: Correct any inaccurate information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data ("Right to be Forgotten")
• Portability: Export your data in a standard format
• Opt-Out: Disable analytics and optional data collection

☁️ Cloud Services & Third Parties

If you choose to enable cloud features, we use the following services:

• Supabase: Secure database and authentication (servers in the USA)
• Apple/Google: For in-app purchases and subscription management

These services are bound by their own privacy policies and strict data processing agreements with us.

🗑️ Data Retention & Deletion

• Local Data: Stored indefinitely on your device until you delete it
• Cloud Data: Retained while your account is active
• Account Deletion: All cloud data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Backups: Encrypted backups are retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted

You can delete your data at any time from within the app (Settings → Data Management → Delete Account).

📝 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by:

• Posting the new policy in the app
• Sending an email notification (for material changes)
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
